Weapon of choice
If you are intending to dress as Negan for a Halloween party, Comic convention, Walker Stalker gathering, or to just get yourself in the mood for the new series of The Walking Dead, then you are going to need to kit yourself out with your own version of Negan’s closest friend, his barbed baseball bat Lucille.
There are a number of options open to you to get your hands on an authentic looking Lucille, except of course to take a real baseball bat and cover it in real barbed wire! Potentially harmful weapons are banned from all comic conventions and are confiscated at the door, and that includes baseball bats, barbed or otherwise. No-one is going to let you in to their party carrying the real Lucille, that’s if the process of constructing such a lethal weapon didn’t culminate in a trip to the hospital along the way! Trust us, our research team are still licking their wounds from investigating that option and finally crossed it off their white board of ideas; more of a smear actually. You will be pleased to hear there are a number of Lucille choices available which should cover all needs and appeal to all pockets. So now the decision is really up to you; which one will you choose…Eeny, Meeny, Miny Mo…

4. How to make your own Cosplay Lucille
Our first three choices will all provide you with an authentic Lucille bat, however there is another alternative for you seasoned cosplay enthusiasts who are in a hurry to get your hands on your own Lucille barbed bat. It does involve a little hands on weapon-making, but then, that’s how Negan came up with Lucille in the first place!
In order to construct our own Lucille, we have gone for materials that are affordable, suitably soft for role play and look authentic. The materials required consist of a prop baseball bat and some fake, theatrical barbed wire. We have recommended two suitable bats and one spool of barbed wire below based on their authenticity, size, price and suitability. If you want your bat to look a little darker, try staining it with a solution of tea or coffee; it works like a charm. Now you simply wrap the wire around the bat at the barrel end. If you have a nice big picture of Lucille on the screen you can copy the pattern. Hey presto! you have a Lucille, a brutally offensive weapon conceived and fashioned by the most feared psychopathic villain ever to grace our TV screens. A scar is born!
