Merida Costume

Princess Merida of DunBroch is the scottish character starring in Disney Pixar’s 2012 movie Brave. As such, Merida became the 11th princess in the Disney role call of Princesses. Furthermore, she became the first Pixar princess, receiving the honor on 11th May 2013. Along with being a perfect princess on screen, Merida also stars in the games: Brave and Temple Run: Brave. She is also a playable character in the Disney Infinity series, making her first appearance Disney Infinity 2.0.

Merida is every inch a Scottish Princess with a temperament as fiery as the flaming locks that form her crowning glory. She is a strong minded individual who persues activites such as archery, horseback-riding and has also be known to scale the odd cliff-face.

Rugged and Royal

Merida’s dress is very much a royal gown but has been adapted so that it allows her to pursue her active exploits comfortably. The inserts at the shoulder and the elbows have been designed to look incredibly elegant yet provide the flexibility she needs for freedom of movement when using her bow and arrow. While the figure hugging bodice on her dress looks elegant, it flares out into a full shirt which accomodates her horseriding and rock-climbing explots.

Description

This gloriously glamorous richly royal dress is fashioned from predominantly blue velvet. It has a figure hugging bodice and a skirt that start at the waist, spreading out for a fuller look that touches the ground. The long sleeves are mainly blue velvet, with inserts at the elbow to show the delicate white under shirt.

Blue satin ribbon bridges the upper arm and lower arm. A similar detail connects the upper arm with the shoulder of the main bodice, continuing the theme. The main blue velvet bodice with slight v shape neckline detail reveals a white undershirt. A fancy frill borders the white undershirt which has a circular neckline.
