The Walking Dead Season 5 Synopsis

Season Four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate.
Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive.
Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them…
After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost…
Who do they become?

Violence Rating

The opening episode of The Walking Dead Season 5 is called “No Sanctuary” and has been described as a blood bath. Although some might be surprised at what made it to air, others have justified the extent of the violence in order for the viewers to truly empathise with the characters on the receiving end.
The Walking Dead Season 5 pushes the level of violence to new heights. Even Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) referred to Episode 3 as “an astonishingly brutal and uncompromising episode”. Violence against zombies has always been brutal but accepted as part of the fantasy story. The Walking Dead Season 5 highlights human brutality against other humans which viewers may find more disturbing.

The Walking Dead Season 5 is as compelling, evocative, exciting and terrifying as ever. The Walking Dead continues to move forward, evolving, finding new directions in which to surprise us and new ways to scare us. You won’t want to miss the ride, but you may be watching on the edge of your seat! Simply the best horror drama on TV.
