The Walking Dead Season 1 Synopsis

After waking from a coma in an abandoned hospital, police officer Rick Grimes finds the world he knew gone – ravaged by a zombie epidemic of apocalyptic proportions. Nearby, on the outskirts of Atlanta, a small encampment struggles to survive as ‘the dead’ stalk them at every turn.

Can Rick and the others hold onto their humanity as they fight to live in this terrifying new world? And, amidst dire conditions and personal rivalries, will they ultimately survive one another? The Walking Dead Season 1 Violence Rating

Throughout this series there are scenes of moderate to strong depictions of violence.
There are shootings of humans and zombies, zombies slashing humans, zombies being impaled, zombies being driven over and killed with various weapons. These scenes are often very bloody and gory.
In Episode 6 there is a scene where a man slashes the head off a zombie completely detaching it from the body.

The Walking Dead Season 1 Verdict:

The Walking Dead is a sophisticated adult TV series. The casting is excellent, with memorable performances from Andrew Lincoln as Rick and Jon Bernthal as Shane, Those who enjoy the horror genre will appreciate the special effects. The Walking Dead should appeal to viewers who might not ordinarily target this genre as well.
This is an excellent TV drama which we whole heartedly recommend.
