Z Nation Season 2 Synopsis
Life continues in the Z Nation with the end goal of getting Murphy to California in the hope of providing a cure for the ZN1 virus. Citizen Z may have come up with a plan to find the elusive Murphy, but the problem with offering reward money is it brings everything crawling out of the woodwork to catch a piece of the action.
Enter Vasquez played by Matt Cederio, a deadly bounty hunter with questionable motives who is handy with a gun and very good at finding people. Now it isn’t just the zombies our heroes need to dodge.
Z Nation Season 2 promises epic battles with lots of new zombies to keep you guessing, from Radioactive Blaster Zombies to Phyto-Zombies, Animal Zombies and of course, a Zombie Baby!
Violence Rating
There are many stabbings, shootings, and zombies are seen on fire.
We see a zombie have his head blown off.
There are some disturbing images including corpses with body parts missing, bandaged and hung from the ceiling.
Other violent images include zombies who have been run over, leaving severed body parts in view, zombies with their heads detached, or cut in half.
People are seen tazed in various ways, e.g. in the stomach, on the wrist. This is not bloody, but shocking.
Many zombies are crushed by rolling objects, leaving behind guts and limbs. These scenes are bloody and gory.
A zombie is seen grounded up and jammed in a car wheel, then stabbed. It is graphic, but the scene is intended to be humerous.
There is a scene where a person is tied up on a table surrounded by torture implements. His mouth is sealed and his leg has been cut off.
One body has a spike through its eye, another person is choked in a long and brutal scene.
Blood spatters are frequent, sometimes used to imply a violent bloody act that is happening just off screen.
Z Nation Season 2 Verdict:
Z Nation Season 2 explodes onto our screens in an action-packed whirlwind of zombies, bounty hunters and fight-scenes interspersed with humour. This series was created with the purpose of putting the fun back into zombies and that is just what Z Nation Season 2 delivers.
What could have been another dark drama about the inevitable end of the world is elevated to a wild ride where the world’s last hope for survival depends on a sinister looking half-zombie deviant whom we would normally avoid like the plague he’s carrying. The humour is inspired, and that is what makes this show such a breath of fresh air.
Z Nation Season 2 is simply crazy, funny, entertaining escapism that will keep you coming back for more.
