Kirk Hammett explains that the design of this pick allows for a precision, speed and control that he believes was instrumental in showcasing his guitar skills. A customization that Kirk added himself was the nick in the end, creating the V shaped end. This allows for manual dexterity and a better grip on the pick when performing. By inverting the pick, the V shaped end is also an ideal design for pick slides and creating his own brand of unique sounds.

In Kirk’s own words
