Joker Costume

Joker Costume
If you planning to put together a Joker Costume in the style of Joachin Phoenix’s character, there are some fundamentals that you are going to need to get right. Red suit, gold waistcoat and green shirt are enough to get you recognised as the newly evolved Joker. To help you steal the show and put together a Joker Costume that will leave those other jokers standing in the wings, we at ZombiePit have put together some pretty snazzy extras in our following step by step guide to your Joker Costume.
Hidden Fleck Flare
Arthur Fleck shows some real flare when choosing his ensemble that is “Joker”. The colors are vibrant but at the same time, in no way garish. His style is as relaxed as the newly evolved Joker himself. Think elegant gentleman about town meets artist’s color palette, and you will begin to understand his style.
Essential Joker Look
Joker’s suit is unmistakeably red but a muted tone. The subtlety of the top layer gives way to a bold, gold, waistcoat revealing the vibrant green shirt that lurks beneath. Even his footwear receives the Joker touch of style with two tone, elegant leather dress shoes. Add a hint of green to his slicked back, luscious locks and voila, you have Joker. Now, put on a happy face and you’re ready.

Joker Suit
When Arthur Fleck transforms into the Joker, he does so with the sartorial elegance we have come to expect from this iconic character. Gone are the dull colors, ill fitting casuals and hunch of the repressed individual called Arthur. Joker stands tall in his elegant, stylish dress suit in a color that has been described as maroon or burgundy but we like to call ‘classy’.
The dark red suit Joker wears in his final ensemble does make several appearances throughtout the movie. For example, when Arthur dances with his mother, he is wearing the trousers and a matching waistcoat. He wears the same outfit for his standup comic debut at the club. Finally Arthur matches his suit with his gold waistcoat, green shirt and other accessories to create the show-stopping look that defines Joker.
Relaxed
The essence of such a suit is the way it hangs. Don’t forget, Joker is set in 1981, long before ‘slim fit suits’ were fashionable. Joker’s choice of suit has plenty of material that feels incredibly comfortable and looks as relaxed as he feels. Watch the way Joker moves. This is a man who knows who he is and likes himself. When you slip into this suit to become Joker, you will feel it too.
Description
This Classic Dress suit is Burgundy in color. The fit is regular, with pleated pants and a classic style jacket. For easy alteration, the hems on the pants have been left open. There is a breast pocket for a kerchief and the hip pockets on the jacket have lapels. In all, there are fourteen colors available in this suit. It is ideal for a work environment but is classic enough to look good at a wedding or formal occasion.

Joker Shirt
It would hardly be Joker if he didn’t manage to work a little green into his ensemble. After all, green is the color of hope, spring, fresh starts. Arthur Fleck is definitely perched on the parapet of a new chapter in his life. Bearing all that in mind, it is hardly surprising that Joker chooses a rich, green shirt to co-ordinate with his suit and waistcoat.
The circle pattern that covers the shirt may well be symbolic of how this new transformation completes his personality. We think he probably just liked it. Choose this shirt to match with your Joker Costume and you will be sure to like it too.
Description
This vibrantly green dress shirt accurately represents the color worn by Joachin Phoenix in ‘Joker‘. The fabric is emblazoned with a pattern of circles in various sizes, picked out in white. With turn down collar, this shirt has button cuffs and a button front. The buttons are color matched with the shirt. Your Joker shirt comes in a range of sizes including Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. It is made from 100% cotton.

Waistcoat
Various items of Joker’s final ensemble can be glimpsed throughout the movie. Joker’s gold waistcoat is one such item.
Arthur Fleck is employed as a clown, a job he loves. Carnival, the name Arthur has dubbed his clown character, wears an eye popping visual assault of colors and patterns topped off with white face and a green wig. The one item of clothing from Carnival’s costume that makes it into Joker’s final look is his gold waistcoat.
Essential Joker
Joker’s gold waistcoat co-ordinates beautifully with both the red of his suit and the green shirt he wears and as such is an essential part of your Joker Costume. This waistcoat has been thoughtfully designed to resemble that worn by Joker in the movie.
Well tailored, an adjustable fit, with buttons that color match the fabric, this waistcoat is an ideal choice for matching with your Joker costume. A comfortable fit and a stylish look, you are going to love wearing this waistcoat, even when you have hung up the rest of your Joker Costume.
Description
In a rich, beautiful gold colour, this waistcoat is well tailored. An adjstable strap and buckle across the back ensure a comfortable fit. The back is made from satin and matches the color on the front. The five button fastening down the front also color match with the gold fabric. A range of sizes are available. This is a beautifully made, quality waistcoat that would make a great addition to your wardrobe.

Shoes
Joker may not have every aspect of his life in order but when it comes to shoes, he really knows his leather. A far cry from the clumsy clown shoes and loose-fitting lace-ups he usually wears, Joker selects some classic two tone dress shoes to complete his outfit. The shoes we have selected to match with your Joker costume are a close match to those worn by Joker in the movie.
Description
Made from rich tan British calf leather, these sophisticated lace up shoes represent a time-honored style for men. You can match these shoes with any color suit and they will look great. The toe cap and instep contrast with the leather on the main body of the shoe. Laser-cut perforations along the edge of these areas add detail.
Soft and stylish, these are great shoes for any occasion. The quality is superb and the price is a bargain. Every man should have a pair of classic shoes in his wardrobe. These make a great choice.

Joker Green Wig
When Arthur Fleck is creating his Joker style, he incorporates a few of his looks from ‘Carnival’, the name he gives his clown self. Carnival wears a larger than life wig that has wild green hair sprouting from either side of a big bald dome of a head. Perched on top is a cute little hat he playfully tilts to one side.
It’s not easy being green
In his new Joker persona, Arthur’s lengthy, lucscious locks are no longer hidden beneath a crazy wig and cute hat. He adds a subtle green rinse and restyles his own hair in the carefully coiffed, slicked back style of an individual who exudes self-confidence. This is not the artificial look of a “please like me” clown. It is the bold statement of an individual who celebrates his uniqueness.
Can your hair cut it?
If you have been blessed with a head of hair that can achieve the Joker look, then you will need little more that some hair color and enough hair products to slick back your own tresses. However, not everyone’s hair is up to full-on Joker. Perhaps you are looking for a quicker and easier solution? In either case, we have found the ideal wig that will compliment your Joker Costume and keep you joking all night.
Description
This wig is made from 100% heat resistant synthetic fibre, for a natural hair look. Long and luscious, this wig has an all over consistent subtle green color. It is suitable for a range of different head sizes up to 24.5 inches in circumference. As a result, it can accomodate those jokers who have a larger head. The wig comes with a wig cap which is ideal for keeping your own hair in place and ensures an even fit.

Joker Clown Mask
We first see Arthur at work, dressed in full clown gear outside of a shop that is having a closing down sale. Accompanied by a piano player, Arthur is waving a sign heralding the sale and dancing around on the pavement to attract customers to the store.
Clown Copyright
Every clown has a unique look that is copyrighted and recorded within the international clown community. As such, the makeup worn by Carnival is unique to him, a virtual fingerprint. Carnival’s appearance is replicated onto a mask within the movie and comes to represent the ‘clown people’. Arthur seems to like that.
Description
Made from Latex, this mask is a replica of that used in the Joker 2019 movie starring Joachin Phoenix. It has green tufts of hair above the ears, blue diamonds above and below the eyes, a red nose, red eyebrows and a large red smile showing white teeth. There are eye holes to sea and a hole at the mouth to aid breathing. Elastic across the back makes it easy to put on and take off and holds it securely whilst wearing. One size fits all clowns.
Cigarettes

- Mock lighted tip
- Blow to create “smoke”
- Made from Paper
Cigarettes
Arthur is a smoker. When he becomes Joker, it is a habit he continues to adopt. Having a prop is a great way to get into a character and maintain the illusion. With these fake cigarettes you can posture and pose as Joker and appear like you are actually smoking. By blowing rather than inhaling, the prop cigarette emits a small burst of powder that creates the illusion of cigarette smoke. This is a wonderful prop to add to your Joker Costume and great fun.
Description
These fake cigarettes are very realistic. Made from paper, they feature a filter tip at one end and red metallic paper at the other to resemble a lit cigarette. The cigarettes are filled with a light, white powder. By blowing on the cigarette, you will send out a burst of white powder that resembles smoke. They are ideal as a stage prop or as part of a Halloween costume or cosplay outfit.

Joker Cigarette Case
If you are going to use cigarettes as a prop for your Joker Costume, what better way to carry them than in a Joker featured cigarette case? This is an elegant looking cigarette case that would be inkeeping with Joker’s new classic style. Also, we think Joker would approve of the playing card joker style picture on the lid.
Description
This cigarette case is constructed of silver metal and measures a neat 4 x 2.75 inches. The top of the case features a joker playing card in court jester apparel. It fits neatly into a pocket and is extremely versatile. As well as holding cigarettes this case can be used to store money or credit cards. It is Radio Frequency ID (RFID) protected, so both your cigarettes and data are safe.
Joker Makeup

Joker Makeup
There is an unwritten rule within the clown community that no clown should copy another clown’s look. In fact, each clown’s makeup is recorded with Clowns International, the world’s oldest clown society. As you would expect from a clown fraternity, they have come up with a novel way of recording each clown’s makeup. A ceramic egg is painted with the exact design of a clown’s makeup and embellished with bow ties, hats, collars and other fragments from the actual clown’s costume.
USA Clowns
This tradition was started in England by Stan Bult during 1946. What started as a hobby developed into a tradition which was later adopted in the United States from 1979 by Leon “Buttons” McBryde and his wife Linda (http://www.internationalclownweek.org/clown%20faces%20on%20eggs.shtml). As Joker is set in 1981, we think Arthur would have made sure that his Carnival makeup was entered into the clown egg-hibition. (ba-doom-doom-tish)
Put on a Happy Face
We have put together everything you need to create Joker’s unique clown makeup. Use the clown mask above as your guide. Start with clown white foundation which you should spread evenly over your face including eye brows and lips. The Finishing Powder is a great way to set this white foundation, especially as you are going to add more colors on top. With the Facepaint Pallet, use the red to color your nose, eye brows and a big red smile.
Finally, with the blue facepaint add triangles above and below the eyes, pointing up and pointing down respectively. The base line of the top triangle runs along your own eye brow. The base line of the bottom triangle runs along your lower lash. Add more finishing powder to seal the whole makeup to prevent smears, tears and bleeding. (Makeup, that is). The Sponge and Powder puff kit are great for applying the foundation and finishing powder respectively.
Last but not least, “Don’t forget to smile!”

‘Smile’ sung by Jimmy Durante
🎷 🎼 🎶
The enchanting song “Smile” sung by Jimmy Durante is featured during Joker, fading in to frame Arthur’s stand up act. He never looked happier. The music was written by Charlie Chaplin for his movie “Modern Times” which is also featured in Joker.
In 1954, lyricists John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added words to Chaplin’s melody and gave the song its title. No doubt, they were inspired by the closing scene of this iconic movie where, consumed by their desperate situtation, Charlie’s companion sobs “What’s the use of trying?”. As they set off down the open road, Charlie responds with his perennial optimism and simply urges her to “Smile”.
