The last straw
For Scotlyn Summerline, it had been one of those days. It was about to get worse. Blowing her diet as well as her finances was bad enough. The uncomfortable reality check that she was working in the sleaziest miniature golf course in Las Vegas had made it all seem so much worse. But when a swarm of rampaging zombies descended upon the city, invading the golf course and threatening every human in sight, Scotlyn had to face facts. Bad things happen to nice girls and it seemed no-one was coming to save her.
Wolf in Zeke’s Clothing
Scotlyn quickly realised she had a better chance of survival if she was not battling zombies on her own. Extreme situations often call for desperate measures, so Scotlyn decided to team up with her time-waster of a boss, Zeke Macready, in a bid to escape the city. Disarmingly handsome he may be but from what Scotlyn had seen of Zeke, he had few redeeming qualities. She also had suspicions he might be a werewolf.

ZOMBIES! A Love Story

- Pages : 108
Fit, Fearless and Frankenfood
Life is full of suprises. For Suzy, nothing proved that more then when she returned to Bloody Gulch, set amid the red rocks of Arizona, to find she hardly recognised her home town. For starters, her nerdy high school boyfriend Chuck had turned into a hunk. She hadn’t seen that coming. The mother she had neatly pigeon-holed as a ‘wilting wallflower’ had turned into a gun-toting sharp-shooter reminiscent of Sarah Connor from Terminator. But the biggest surprise, or so she thought, was that her least favorite food company, Frankenfood, had set up shop on the edge of town.
Reunion Time
The most dramatic change in Bloody Gulch that would bring the most serious of consequences was not immediately apparent to Suzy. That revealed itself late one night when Suzy was dragged from her slumber by a banging on her bedroom window. Initially shocked and then relieved, Suzy recognised her old school friend Amy Johnson and her boyfriend Mark.
Bloody Gulch, bloody mayhem
What was to become an old school reunion quickly turned into a nighmare scenario where her house was surrounded by zombies. Eerily, Suzy realised that she recognised most of them from a party earlier. Whatever was going on, Suzy and company were surrounded, outnumbered, and needed to escape, fast.
What about Chuck?
Whatever thoughts had been meandering through Suzy’s head about rekindling her romance with Chuck, the new scenario running through her brain in fast-forward were about a nerd and a hippy battling the zombie apocalypse together and hopefully surviving. Then it suddenly dawned on Suzy, could Chuck have turned into a zombie too?
Ten Little Zombies: A Love Story
- Hardcover, Kindle
- Author: Andy Rash
- Published: 28 July 2010
- Pages: 48
Cute but Deadly
There are essentially two lessons you can learn from reading 10 Little Zombies. The first is that when you are fleeing from zombies, it does not matter how cute or adorable the zombies might appear. Given the chance, any zombie will kill and eat you. Do not be taken in. It is you or the zombie. When you get the chance, kill it in the quickest most efficient way possible, no hessitation.
Two Brains are better than One
The second lesson is that surviving the first lesson can be a whole lot easier, effective and lets face it, entertaining, if you are sharing the experience with the love of your life. Two heads are better than one. More Brains.
Imaginative, Gruesome and Funny
Ten little zombies is a humorous tale full of charm, mirth and mayhem. It is the tale of a couple being pursued by zombies who must pool their resources and ingenuity in order to survive. As they pick the zombies off one by one, their methods of dispatching them become ever increasingly imaginative and entertaining. True, the zombies stumble and shuffle their way toward a variety of gruesome ends but that is why this darkly funny illustrated tale will have you laughing your head off.
Edgar: A Story about Love. And Zombies. And Pizza.
- Paperback, Kindle
- Author: Jason Appling
- Published: 9 July 2017
- Pages: 60
People make a lot of assumptions about zombies. Ask anyone you know to describe a zombie and they will probably utter pre-conceived ideas such as: no personality, no pulse, rotting flesh, moaning, slow moving, likes to eat human brains. But that is because they are just looking at it from the biased perspective of a potential victim.
Zombie Pizza Run
Enter Edgar the zombie. Edgar is just dying to show you what the world looks like through the eyes of a zombie. For a start, Edgar does not eat brains, he prefers pizza. He spends most of his time searching for pizza. Edgar also spends much of his time running away from zombie hunters. Sometimes he does both at the same time.
Zombie in Love
This is not the full versatility of Edgar’s talents. He also has a quest. Yes, it does include pizza. But Edgar is also looking for love. If you want to gaze at the world through the eyes of an incurably romantic zombie with an addiction to pizza, then join Edgar as he journeys on his quest to find love. And zombie friends. And pizza.
