Your mission is to remove all the Funatomy parts from his body before you can collect your fee. Make sure you don’t get gazzumped by a fellow doctor with a Specialist card, they might double-down and steal your dough. The parts you are going to have to remove from Oogie Boogie consist of: a snake, spider, dice, worms needle and thread, roulette wheel, card deck, keys, bones, scorpion, a bat and a bug. Keep your head and don’t lose your lunch.

Object of the Game

Score the most points by playing as many cards as you can from your deck and claiming stacks of cards.

Set Up

1. Separate the double-sided Moon cards from the rest of the deck.
2. Deal out the Moon cards evenly to all players. Put any extra Moon cards back in the box.
3. Shuffle the remaining cards and deal them out evenly to all players face down. Each player will have their own deck. Keep your Moon cards in a separate pile.

Note: You can hold your deck face down in one hand and use the other hand to flip and play cards. Or you can leave your deck face down on the table. But you may only use one hand to flip and play cards.

Starting the Game

To start the game, players call out “1, 2, 3, Go!” Then everyone plays at the same time, as fast as they can. There are no turns – it’s mayhem!

How to Play

1. Flip over the top card of your deck
2. Choose to either play it in the middle of the table to start or add a stack or place it face up in your own discard pile.
3. Now flip another card and keep going as quickly as you can.
4. At any time, you may play the top-card of your discard pile or a Moon card from your Moon card pile
5. Once you’ve played or discarded all the cards in your deck, pick up your discard pile, turn it over and keep playing

In 2004 NECA brought out Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas Board Game. This has become a collector’s item and is rather sought after. Much like the movie, it has a simple premise that is easy to follow and enormous fun.

Object of the Game

The aim of the game is simple. In order to win you must be the first player to complete 3 steps:

Firstly you must ‘kidnap’ Santa. (Don’t worry, it all ends well.) You must then play the game until such time you have earned 100 points. At this stage you can attempt to defeat Oogie Boogie.

What do you get in the box?

Spinner

At certain points in the game, the spinner is used to determine the outcome of a move. The spinner consists of a circle with 8 segments divided into: Escape, Win, Escape, Lose, Escape, Win, Escape, Lose.

Dice

Two dice are included in the game. These are thrown by each player in turn to determine their number of moves around the board.

Cards

This game includes a pack of 60 playing card. These consist of 8 Santa cards and 52 picture cards. The eight santa cards have a red face with a sketch of Santa. The picture cards show images of characters from the movie. These 52 cards each have a number in the top left corner which is either a 5, 10, 15 or 20, so there are 8 cards of each number. Once you have ‘kidnapped’ Santa and collected 100 points you can challenge Oogie Boogie.

NECA Nightmare Before Christmas Trading Card Game

This game is aimed at players who are 10 years and over. A typical game duration is 45 minutes. This game was designed by Andrew Parks and Zev Sclasinger.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Trading Card Game is an interactive, fast-playing trading card game featuring the characters and places within the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. Much like Jack dreamed of owning Christmas, the players have 12 days in the lead up to Christmas to create their own, individual scary version of Christmas in Halloween Town. The game is packed with locales and surprises to keep the sense of suspense and action exciting througout the game. When the 12 days are up and Christmas arrives, the person with the scariest town is the winner.

How to create your Halloween Town

During the 12 rounds of the game, which represent the 12 day countdown to Christmas, each player plays CHARACTERS below his LOCALE in order to make his Halloween Town the most scary and to activate his LOCALES so he can use their FUNCTIONS.

The FUNCTIONS of the LOCALES allow players to draw cards into their hands, add PUMPKIN POINTS and move their characters around Halloween Town.

Each character has a SCARE NUMBER in the upper left corner of their card that determines how scary that character is, and how many SCARE POINTS the character is worth at the end of the game. Characters also use their SCARE NUMBERS to activate the LOCALES they visit in Halloweentown.

Players also play CREATIONS to rack up lots of SCARE POINTS and play SURPRISES to challenge their opponents
and engage in various other fun activities. At the end of the 12 days (12 rounds) whoever has the most scare points in their Halloween Town is the undisputed Pumpkin King of Christmas. That is, they win.

Verdict

If you enjoy trading card games and love Nightmare Before Christmas then you are going to get a lot of enjoyment our of these cards. This is a great game to get out at Halloween or Christmas to enjoy with like-minded Nightmare Before Christmas enthusiasts, even if they are new to trading card games. With the widespread appeal of Nightmare Before Christmas and the fact that no two of these games are ever the same, this is a game that has lots of replay value.
