Liquid Latex by Ben Nye
Ben Nye is synonymous with quality makeup. When it comes to liquid latex, this product is reliable in quality, easy to use and produces excellent results with a little practice. It really is true to say that the effects that can be achieved are only limited by the makeup artist’s imagination.
Liquid Latex is an extremely versatile makeup tool. One useful effect is when used in conjunction with modeling wax as a sealant. The latex can also be used with a slush mold to create your own 3D appliance. The more you experiment with this product, the more ambitious you can afford to be with your ideas and the more skilled you will become at producing some truly remarkable special effects. The most simple application is to apply directly to make aged, blistering or wound effects. For example, layers of tissue paper applied with this liquid can quickly be built up to create a raised area above the skin. Once dry, sections can be coloured with flesh coloured makeup and torn away to create the ripped flesh or gaping wound look. Add some fake blood and hey presto, an amazing zombie look!
This extremely versatile product has a pungent smell whilst wet which does dissipate once it has set. Make sure your working area is well ventilated before you start creating!
The ideal applicator for latex is a makeup brush.
