Dead Rising is a survival horror beat ’em up game that was first created for the Xbox 360 back in August 2006 but due to overwhelming popularity can now also be found on the Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstations 3 and 4, Xbox One and also PC.
The protagonist of Dead Rising is a freelance photographer and photojournalist by the name of Frank West. With a colourful background in journalism that has taken him to various war torn parts of the world, Frank West is in search of his next big scoop when he stumbles onto some strange happenings in the sleepy town of Willamette, Colorado. The hot lead Frank West follows takes him straight into a town overrun with zombies!
For some reason shopping malls have developed a reputation for being a safe haven during a zombie apocalypse. Having fallen for this assumption, Frank West makes his way to the local shopping mall, only to find that vast hordes of zombies have done the same. The place is busier than Christmas Eve and not a single shopper in sight!
Now it is up to you to help Frank West survive the onslaught of zombies by using the resources available to you in the shopping mall in order to fight off the bloodthirsty mob, save as many survivors as possible and investigate the cause of the zombie pandemic. With no traditional weapons available to him, Frank must use his ingenuity and imagination to defend himself with whatever resources come to hand in a mall. We have to hand it to Frank, he does come up with some wacky ways to waylay those zombies!
The zombies arrive in relentless waves from every direction into the mall. In such a vast shopping center there are a wealth of areas to explore inside and out which contain vehicles, improvised weapons and more that can be used against the undead. Frank West must use all resources available to him in whichever way he can in order to overcome the zombie pandemic and restore order.
Dead Rising Violence Rating
Dead Rising is a violent adventure game. The main protagonist uses a variety of makeshift weapons to dispatch zombies but that does not deter from the violence. There are shotgun blasts, chainsaw dismemberment and hand-to-hand combat. At times the language is profane and there is some nude imagery on t shirts or art work. This game is aimed at adults and is not suitable for children.
Dead Rising Verdict
Originally created for the XBox 360, this re-release of Dead Rising has been modified sufficiently to provide better performace without taking anything away from the original charm of the game. This is a great opportunity for seasoned players to replay the original. There is plenty of bloodthirsty violence which although gory is, at times, quite comedic in the outrageous way it is performed. This is a fun, fast paced, action packed game that is charmingly addictive and great fun to play.

EXO suits furnish players with super-powered weapons that come accompanied with incredible fire power to take on the zombie horde. With the multiplayer option you can team up with friends to complete missions together in seamless four-player co-operative format. The world is the limit as you join international forces to battle the zombies around the world.
