The Walking Dead Survival Instinct Description
The player assumes the role of crossbow expert and legendary survivor Daryl Dixon who is on a quest to get to Atlanta. Along the way Daryl has to fight the inevitable hoard of zombies. As Daryl carefully makes his way through the Georgia countryside, no place is safe as a zombie could lurk at every turn. Daryl’s elder brother Merle is along for the ride in this post-apocalyptic world. The voices of Daryl and Merle are provided by the actors from the show: Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker respectively.
Violence Rating
The player in this mature first person shooter uses a variety of weapons against the zombies including blunt instruments such as metal pipes, crossbow, shotguns, knives and hammers. This can be bloody.
Zombie heads are seen bashed in, sometimes exploding when shot, sometimes the player can strike a zombie from behind with a knife.
We see zombies feeding on dead bodies which is bloody, some zombies are dismembered. Some zombies lurch towards the screen, seemingly at the player.
Red blood appears on the screen when the player’s character becomes wounded. When the player dies, the illusion of a fatal zombie bite to the throat is achieved with a zombie bending forward, and then blood filling the bottom of the screen.
The Walking Dead Survival Instinct Verdict
The Walking Dead is such an iconic TV show, the game is bound to be regarded with enthusiasm by die hard fans of the TV show. To seasoned players, this will not be too much of a challenge in terms of game play. The graphics are good enough, the plot is easy to follow.
There are lots of zombies to kill, so fans of the TV show will get a sense of what it feels like to discover zombies round the corner, and to deal with a hoard of the undead coming towards you.
